The new TOTO announced their new lineup, but their activities were frozen due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This live album will give you the ultimate experience of their latest tour, which has finally begun. This work contains two performances. This is a two-disc set with the “February 28, 2022 Boston performance” on DISC 1 and the “March 2, 2022 Detroit performance” on DISC 2. The new lineup was announced in October 2020. After that, they performed a streaming live show “WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS” the following month, but they didn’t show any movement for over a year. In the end, the tour finally came to fruition in 2022. They started their live activities as the opening act for JOURNEY’s “FREEDOM Tour”. This work is a live album of such a latest tour. First, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule.February 22-27: North America (4 performances)February 28: Boston performance DISC 1March 2: Detroit performance DISC 2March 4-May 11: North America (34 performances)July 11-August 27: Europe (33 performances)This is the 2022 schedule that has been announced so far. The plan is to tour the United States from February to May, and then Europe in the summer. However, as you know, Europe is currently in a situation where World War III could break out at any time. I can’t help but pray that this schedule will be carried out safely… Anyway, the two performances in this work are just the beginning of the tour. They were the fifth and sixth concerts. This work, which contains these two performances, is also a showdown between famous recording artists. The famous recording artists are “Farve4” and “guitard”. Both of them are “modern masters” who have produced a series of great recordings, and the Boston performance (DISC 1) was recorded by “Farve4” and the Detroit performance (DISC 2) by “guitard”. In addition, the JOURNEY edition, which will be released at the same time, is also a work by both of them, and there are many other recording battles between the two of them. Recently, at NIGHT RANGER, “Farve4″‘s “FOXBORO 2020” and “guitard”‘s “HALLOWEEN 2020” competed for the title of the best masterpiece of the tour. This work is a head-on collision between these two modern heroes. In fact, both are superb products with “super” attached. The core is extremely thick and the air feeling is super clear. There is no sense of distance, and if you were told “It’s an FM broadcast,” you would believe it without a shred of doubt. However, even though both standards are superb, their personalities are quite different. The Boston performance (DISC 1: Farve4 recording) is characterized by its high-pitched sound, and the performance sound that penetrates the crystal clear air is sparkling and dynamic at the same time. In contrast, the Detroit performance (DISC 2: guitar recording) is rich, thick, and beautiful. It is dense, and the air is not clear, but rather extremely tight, as if there is no air. And it has a wonderful heavy response rather than a stretch, and the glossy tone is beautiful as if it melts. If the Boston recording is a “sound of brilliance,” the Detroit recording is a velvety sound that could be called a “sound of touch.” These two performances, which convey the “current TOTO” with such unique and exquisite sounds, are depicted. Both sets are the same, so let’s organize them together here. Bobby Kimball era (6 songs) Space Knight: Hold The Line / Georgy Porgy () Hydra: White Sister Holy Sword: I Won’t Hold You Back/Rosanna/Africa () Joseph Williams era (4 songs) Fahrenheit: I’ll Be Over You () The 7th Sword: Pamela/Home Of The Brave Bonds of the Holy Sword: Orphan () *Note: marks songs that were not heard on the official “With a Little Help from My Friends” album. …And so it goes. The main act is JOURNEY, so it’s a short set, but they still fill the one-hour performance with a selection of classic songs from the past. The only current lineup is the streaming live “With a Little Help from My Friends,” but the current tour includes four songs that were not heard there. All songs except for the opening song “Orphan” are classics, but on the other hand, “With a Little Help from My Friends” includes songs like “Africa” and “Georgy It is only now that we realize that there was no “Porgy”. There are few cultures that allow you to experience technological advances as vividly as “audience recording”. The evolution of PA, the evolution of venue acoustics, the evolution of equipment, and the evolution of recording know-how. This is a live album that allows you to experience the skills of two cutting-edge master recordists at TOTO Music. This is a new masterpiece that allows you to experience the “cutting edge of 2022” at the same time as the latest report from TOTO. This is a superb audience recording set of “February 28, 2022 Boston performance / March 2, 2022 Detroit performance”. This is a famous recording by Farve4 and guitar, who are highly regarded as modern master recordists, with a very thick core and a super clear airiness. There is no sense of distance at all, and if you were told that it was an FM broadcast, you would believe it without a single doubt. However, their personalities are quite different. “Boston (Farve4 recording)” is characterized by its high-pitched clarity, and the performance sound is sparkling and dynamic at the same time. In contrast, “Detroit (DISC 2: guitar recording)” is rich, thick, and beautiful. It is dense and has a heavy feel rather than a long-lasting feel. This is a new masterpiece that allows you to experience the “cutting-edge sound of 2022” at the same time as the latest report from TOTO.
