RAINBOW’s live sound sources from the Ronnie era, including Europe and America, and two tours in Japan, each have their own unique individuality and make you enjoy wonderful live performances. Among them, the most famous are sound board sound sources such as WHEN EVENING FALLS and THE END OF RISING. Furthermore, there are now more and more excellent audience recordings. However, most of the material was recorded during the Japan Tour in 1976 and 1978. Speaking of a sound source that can enjoy live performances overseas with a superb recording that is comparable to these, this work “DEFINITIVE STAFFORD” is most suitable. This work is a high-quality audience recording that will convince all listeners of the master quality of the Stafford performance held on November 18th from the 1977 UK tour to promote “ON STAGE”. Completely recorded. This ’77 UK tour started with two consecutive performances in Newcastle on October 31st and November 1st, and ended with a Cardiff performance on November 22nd, with a total of 17 performances. The Stafford performance of this work is the 14th performance in the final stage, and not only the main three players Ritchie, Ronnie, and Cozy, but also the newly joined bassist Bob Disley and keyboardist David Stone performed as a band. This is a live show from when we had a strong sense of unity. First of all, you will be overwhelmed by the good visibility and direct feel of the sound, but this recording is most delicious because of the atmosphere created by the appropriate distance between the taper and the stage. As you can see when you listen to “Mistreated,” its greatest feature is that you can feel the classical sound unique to halls. As with London’s “Hammersmith Odeon,” the deep acoustics give the impression of a live performance in England. The sound wraps around you, giving the listener the ultimate sense of realism. From the opening Over The Rainbow and Kill The King, this show is also a wonderful word that Richies tension-filled play is also wonderful. The audience responded with great excitement to the band’s explosive performance. In addition to the aforementioned Mistreated, the splendor and ferocity of the solo performed by Richie in Catch The Rainbow is an agony class. “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll” sometimes feels a little floating in this set, but the sound of this recording makes you feel a tremendous vibration. You can also hear the interaction between Ronnie and the audience that takes place in the middle of the performance, and the excitement that the entire venue feels is “fun.” After Man On The Silver Mountain, where the live is in the second half, the voltage of the performance increases. The clear tone of “Blues” that can be heard here is exquisite (in the scene where “Blues” transitions to “Starstruck”, Richie plays in a unique way, and it is interesting to see the unique connection that is different from usual) That’s the point). “Still I’m Sad” led by David’s spacey and classical keyboard solo is truly a masterpiece. The scene where Richie plays a sharp intro riff on top of the clapping that surrounds the venue is captured in the best possible way. It is also wonderful that Cozy’s solo is recorded clearly and directly, making it an exquisite take that fans will play over and over again. The power of the earth-shaking bass sounds is sure to knock out the listener! The encore Do You Close Your Eyes is also recorded with the greatest power, including the guitar crash. You will be surprised at the sound, which is comparable to the recording from the performance in Japan, such as the roaring sound of the guitar, the scream-like noise, and the loud cheers from the audience.
