The unofficial edition “Standard at Musikhale”, which was said to be the “best performance” from the 1989 world tour, has been updated and improved from the re-broadcast ultra-clear digital sound source. The old title is “Standard at Musikhale”, which went out of print a few years ago, but the master was a cassette tape that air-checked live radio broadcasts in the 1980s, and the tape itself deteriorated over time. There were some songs that had a hiss that caught my attention. Also, in the original broadcast, the applause from the audience was cut out for some songs. This time, the digitally broadcasted sound source will eliminate all the various dissatisfaction. The sound produced by the three of them is so good that you might mistake it for official music, and everyone will be moved to tears by the sound source, which gives a more three-dimensional feel. In the opening song, “My Funny Valentine,” each note played by Keith resonates deep into your heart with phrasing as pure as a clear stream. Gary Peacock’s sound image, which gives you the feeling of playing the bass with your fingers, is heart-warming. Furthermore, the beautiful sound produced by Keith’s piano, DeJohnette’s smooth cymbal, and snare overlap, allowing you to immerse yourself in a world of beautiful sounds that far exceeds the level of an unofficial version. The Hamburg performance I have listened to over and over again. The ultimate title that completely reincarnates that masterpiece. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content with the utmost respect.
